Job Description: PR Manager
PR Manager (Hybrid) – Cardiff
Our Client is seeking an experienced and skilled PR Manager to join their Marketing team working on hybrid basis.
As a PR Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective public relations campaigns to enhance the organisation’s reputation.
Your role will involve building strong relationships with media outlets, managing press releases and taking responsibility for media monitoring. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders and external partner organisations to promote individual and business services and events across digital media channels.
The ideal candidate is a proactive and a creative communicator with exceptional writing and interpersonal skills and a proven experience of delivering effective PR activity across internal and external channels.
Main duties as PR Manager:
- Contribute to the delivery of the organisations PR/Communications strategy by writing press releases and articles for targeted media outlets and digital media channels.
- Proactively seek opportunities to secure media coverage, including interviews, feature stories, and guest articles.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts and ensure the database of press contacts is kept up to date.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align PR strategies with overall marketing and communication efforts.
- Work with media monitoring platforms such as Meltwater to monitor and evaluate the company’s online reputation and PR activity through social media and online platforms.
- Support the Head of PR and Communication in coordinating corporate internal and external communications materials and events.
Skills & Qualifications required:
- Ideally hold a professional qualification and membership in communications e.g., CIPR, CIM, PRCA
- PR and communications experience, ideally gained within a law firm, professional services organisation, PR agency or journalism environment.
- Proven experience securing media coverage across national, regional, trade and legal media.
- Passionate about media relations and building long-term relationships with journalists, colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Comfortable working with partners and senior colleagues, providing advice and support on media opportunities.
- Excellent writing, editing and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and business topics into engaging content.
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
