Job Description: Business Development Assistant
Business Development Assistant, Swansea (Hybrid)
Our client, a leading global training provider, is seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to join its Sales and Marketing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing existing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities and qualifying and progressing sales leads.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build a successful career in sales and business development within a fast-paced, innovative and dynamic environment.
The position would suit a proactive individual with strong communication skills, a positive attitude and the drive to achieve results while contributing to the success of a growing team.
The role:
Business Development
- Qualify and manage all leads by converting them into contacts, categorising them appropriately and assigning ownership.
- Schedule appointments and meetings for Business Development Executives and Managers.
- Follow up on delegate feedback received after events.
- Conduct demand generation follow-up activities for prospective and lapsed customer accounts.
- Create targeted prospect lists using relevant tools, resources and systems.
- Produce and distribute progress, activity, and performance reports.
Event Support & Engagement Activities
- Promote events through appropriate social media channels.
- Conduct invitation calls to VIP attendees for key events.
- Support and coordinate targeted promotional communications where required.
Data Management & Cleansing
- Maintain, review and regularly cleanse customer, contact and account data within Salesforce.
- Ensure all contact information held in Salesforce remains accurate and up to date using relevant data enrichment tools.
- Regularly review and verify LinkedIn contact information against Salesforce records.
- Maintain and update parent company, subsidiary and related company data as required.
Additional Responsibilities
- Meet agreed individual and team KPIs and performance objectives.
- Drive attendance for webinars, industry events and customer meetings.
- Promote and strengthen the organisation’s brand, values and mission within the wider community.
- Support Country Leads and Business Development Managers with tender and procurement opportunities for prospective customers where applicable.
- Assist with invoice management and aged debt processes, helping to ensure timely customer payments.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service and account support when required.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Previous experience in a sales, business development or customer service role within a corporate environment would be advantageous.
- An ambitious and proactive self-starter with a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to build a successful career.
- Preferably educated to degree level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with customers and prospects.
- Results-driven, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and develop within a fast-paced business environment.
- Fluency in a modern European language would be desirable, although not essential.
